Venues can now publish events alongside table bookings, or instead of them. Each event gets its own page on the venue's website, guests sign up for places, and every event appears on an events calendar.
What is new
Events in the admin. Create, duplicate, publish and delete events under Events. Save an event as a draft and publish it when it is ready.
A page for every event. Each event has its own address on the venue's site, for example /events/wine-tasting. The address is shown under the title in the editor and can be changed there.
Places and signups. Give an event a number of places, or leave it open. Guests sign up on the event's page and see how many places are left; signups stop when it is full.
Photos. A cover photo and up to 12 more. The event page shows them as a gallery, and any photo can be made the cover.
An events calendar. The venue's site gets an /events page with a calendar and a list of what is coming up, and an Events link in the site's navigation.
For guests
Signing up works like a booking. The guest gets a confirmation email with a link to their signup, a reminder before the event, and can cancel from the link. A signup is tied to its event, so it cannot be moved to another time on its own.
Cancelling an event
Cancelling an event emails everyone who signed up, so nobody has to be called one by one.
Turning it on
Events are switched on per venue in Settings › Booking rules, next to table bookings. A venue can offer tables, events or both.
